Young Women's Leadership Program

The Young Women Leadership Program (YWLP) of Miriam College - Women and Gender Institute aims to engage , involve and hone young women in a clear gender and feminist orientation in preparation for their future roles in society.It supports  leadership and public service formation of Miriam College  and those in other campuses, particularly schools of Consortium of Women's Colleges (CWC), young women in the community, as well as young women professionals. WAGI supports the formation of young feminist groups such as BAI (Babaing Aktibong Indibidwal - a student organization in Miriam College) , Liyab (a young femnist organization composed of Miriam College graduates), and CEDAW  Youth ( a network of young professionals promotimg the rights of young women and girls).

Activities include:                                                  

(a)Annual  Young Women Leaders                                                                                                Conference (YWLC)

(b) Young Women's Leadership Training

(c) Conduct of research studies on young women- i.e. adolescent sexulaity, young women's guide to gender, human rights and governance, etc

(d) Teen Magazine, i.e. Speak Out Magazine

(e) Organize youth panel sessions in international and national conferences 

(f) Youth Photo and Art Exhibit
