Gender Fair Education (April 12 – April 16, 2010)

 

An intensive one-week course that will provide development workers specially in the field of formal and non-formal education (i.e. teachers, administrators, module writers, trainors) with the framework of gender and development  and how teaching and learning situations that can fenhance and enrich programs on gender equality and education for all. It aims to: (

1) equip development workers, teachers, GAD focal persons in Education, educators and other professionals in the education sector with skills to implement the Millenium Development Goals' targets for 2015 on gender equality and universal primary education;

(2) use Framework Plan for Women adn the MDGs, in  strengthening   the education sector  as advocates of gender equality; and

(3) assist participants to coordinate all efforts and initiatives from curriculum, teaching, research and training work towards achieving non-sexist learning in all teaching-learning environments.

 

Course Content:  Gender Socialization: The School as a socialization agent; Gender and the teaching-learning process; The GAD Core messages in education; Developing Non-sexist Instructional materials; Curriculum Integration of International Women’s Human Rights, Convention on Child Rights and  other International and local  Instruments

 

Course Methodology: Lecture, input discussion, film showing, group workshop

 

Course Fee: 

 

Local participants:

Php 6,500 for on-site registration

Php 6,000 for payment made on or before March 15, 2010

 

International participants:

US$ 350 for on-site registration

US$ 300 for payment made on or before March 15, 2010
