Regional Consultation on the Women's Agenda for Good Governance in the 2010 Elections

The Consultation will involverepresentatives from NGOS, local government bosies and agencies, and women's rights advocates. It aims to identify emerging key challenges, threats, constraints on gender and governance issues at the local and regional levels as well as develop a women's agenda for the national elections and regional strategies to address issues on gender and governance. The women's agenda will be presented to the presidential candidates during the Dialogue with the Presidentiables on February 2010 in Manila. The forum also aims to formalize and expand membership of CEDAW Watch Network (a multi-sectoral network committed to promote women's human rights using the CEDAW Convention).
